Objectives
IBM required a system that drew heavily on our messaging and bespoke application expertise. The project would be an internal campaign to bring their staff together on key issues affecting the company. IBM consulted with their staff on the top issues affecting their work within the corporation. A range of problems and potential solutions would be put to a democratic vote, a vote powered by txtNation SMS messaging solutions. On a second front, IBM required a system that would take votes for a “Dragons’ Den”-style event in which staff could put forward ideas to an internal business panel.
Course of Action
txtNation built a system that allowed IBM staff to send text messages in order to vote. Our systems, including a powerful database, collated votes for each campaign and then live statistics were displayed on-site at IBM’s UK headquarters, projected on a screen. We hosted the service on our servers while IBM supplied the laptop and projector at their end.
Results
In our follow-up at IBM, 94% of participating staff agreed that the program was easy to use. An encouraging 76% said they would like to be updated on company and product information by SMS text messaging in future.
